Packleader Farm hosted back-to-back AHBA trials in July keeping Barbara and Steve very busy on consecutive weekends in July.
First up was the Ranch Large Flock (RLF) trial, which, in addition to RLF classes, featured the new Boundary course, giving our C-course afficianados another chance to play! Several club members and their dogs earned titles in Boundary Trial Dog.

High in Trial awards went to Hightower’s Hump (Rook) owner Cathy Sumeracki (Saturday); Summererny’s Rowdy Holbrook (Rowdy) owner Cathy Sumeracki (Sunday), and SchaSam’s Ethel Mertz (Mertz) owner Sam Lietz (Monday). The RLF High Combined Award, donated by Barbara Davenport and Elsie Rhodes, went to CBK Lass, owned by Lisa Charaba. Full results can be found on the Events 2025 page. Congratulations to all!
The following weekend was the much-anticipated Kelpie Roundup, an annual event open to all breeds but highlighting the skills and enthusiasm of Australian Kelpies. The trial features high-in-trial awards for each day, as well as for the three-day trial by levels, courses, and stock. But three awards are the highlight of the weekend: the Combined High in Trial Awards for Australian Kelpies and for Other Breeds, and the Rick Pinney Memorial Award, a sportsmanship award for Kelpie exhibitors, voted on by competitors, stock handlers, and judges. Full results can be found on the Events 2025 page. Photos showing the winners of these awards and a few action shots can be found below.
